A voluptuous and dirty Iris.
When the East meets the West: the fascinating point of contact between different cultures, where diversity creates a new language. Iconic materials from the East and the West - Oud and Iris - blended into a new mysterious and voluptuous creature.

The fascination of contaminations
I have always been fascinated by the contaminations coming from different cultures, which give rise to new forms - called syncretic, eclectic: for me, a new deviant wonder.
I remember my enchantment with the exotic and mysterious pseudo-Arabic writings in the halos of certain Renaissance paintings focused on a quintessential aspect of Christian culture yet contaminated by a reference to Arab culture.
Or the incredible syncretic forms such as Greek or Roman temples transformed into Christian churches, or Indo-Islamic architecture, merging two cultures into a new language.

Meetings, the perfume
This obsession, I wanted to materialize with Encounters, through the combination of two iconic ingredients from the East and the West, Iris and Oudh - a moment of contact that gives rise to a new creature.
You will find the sophisticated refinement of iris butter, with its soft and mysterious powdering; a material that develops in the soil to then generate the most lyrical of flowers.

And you will find Oudh, a substance born from an infection of Aquilaria trees, which then produces one of the most enchanting and complex scents in the range of perfumery ingredients. 

Iconic material: Iris butter
The iris is an emblematic flower of Western culture. It is the symbol of the city of Florence - in the countryside of which one of the most important areas for the cultivation of this flower has developed.
The fleur-de-lis has also been the symbol of the kings of France since the 12th century.
And the iris can be found countless times in the paintings of Western history.  

Iconic material: Oud
Oudh is an iconic ingredient of Eastern culture due to its crucial importance. Derived from an infection of the Aquilaria tree, it originates from South and Southeast Asia, as well as certain regions of the Middle East.
Used for spiritual and religious purposes, it is said to help elevate the spirit and create a sense of calm and connection with the Divine.
Considered one of the most precious materials in perfumery for its intense and complex aroma, it is woody with leathery, animalistic, and smoky facets.
