The Life of Antoine Soradora

Antoine Soradora was born on July 16, 1902 in Loulé, a small town in southern Portugal. His parents were farmers and very devout, which shaped the young man's life. Passionate about nature and scents, Antoine was also very solitary and thoughtful. At 18, he faced a difficult choice: follow the path laid out for him or leave his country to fully live his life.

Antoine's Passion for Fragrances

Antoine Soradora paid particular attention to each of the scents that defined the contours of his daily surroundings. From lavender growing wildly along the roads, to the mingling of earth and water, the burst of a spring at the edge of a grove, peat, and hay, freshly cut grass in spring, flowers and fruits — all these smells awakened his senses and his inspiration.

Antoine Soradora and His Arrival in France

In 1920, as winter seemed to drag on, Antoine Soradora learned news that would change the course of his life: "France is recruiting foreign labor to supply its large mining operations," his friend Sandro told him. Without looking back, Antoine Soradora made the decision to leave his native land.
