As the sun sets over the dense rainforest, civets emerge warily from the undergrowth. Beneath a carpet of narcotic flowers, a handful of coffee berries pepper the ground. The humid air is heavy with aromas of moss that seep into every crevice, but the musky scent of the civets dominates; their boldly marked territory warns anyone who enters to do so at their own risk.

The zoologist Civet pays homage to the age-old ingredient, the civet, and to the chypre perfumes of old — fragrances that refused to be intimidated by raw, seductive, animalic musks. Civet is a moody, complex infusion laced with mystery. It opens on a spicy floral accord threaded with dark coffee tones. Slowly it prowls forward, unraveling base notes of leather, moss and vanilla that combine with distinctive civet musk to create a disarming, sophisticated fragrance with the promise of a sensual nocturnal rendezvous.
