Although their long necks dip to graze, their slender legs stay taut, ready to flee. Nearby, golden eyes gleam through the dark, and silky ears prick up, listening for the slightest tremor. The tiger moves forward hesitantly, focused on its prey, waiting for a moment of vulnerability. In one continuous motion, it springs and descends on its victim, its razor-sharp fangs sinking deep into the deer's throat. As the deer's life fades, its herd has already gone, dissolving into the night.
