Sesame and grapefruit coexist and merge like the landscape that inspires them, the high plain of Kedu. Nestled on the island of Java in the heart of Indonesia, this land is at once fertile, lush, and volcanic. The generosity of nature and the nearby eruptive presence of Mount Merapi echo one another, as do the promise of sesame and the burst of grapefruit. The same vital force, the same overflowing energy passes between them, giving the composition its full breadth.
